Are you eligible to apply for an In-roads loan?

To be eligible for an In-roads loan, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident over 18 years old
  • You have an annual household income less than $50,000 (gross), including benefits and pension payments
  • You hold a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card or receive Family Tax Benefit Part A
  • You can show that you can make regular payments (e.g. household budget, credit record, bill payment history).

Application assessment

When you apply for an In-roads loan, we'll asses your loan application by looking at four key points to ensure a loan is suitable for you:

Bank statements

We'll look at your bank statements to see if you have saved money in the past; this helps us understand if you'll be able to meet loan repayments.

By paying your bills on time you can show us that you can manage your money. If you have outstanding bills you will need to make arrangements to pay these.

Your budget

Are you able to budget your money? We'll look at the money you receive against the money you need to spend to ensure there's enough to pay back your loan.

Do you have a stable history of where you live? We may need to contact you from time to time, so we'll need to be assured that you have lived at the same address for 3 or more months.
