Our vision for reconciliation

Australia is one of the world’s wealthiest nations, yet a disproportionate number of Indigenous Australians live with unacceptable gaps in health, income and living standards.

Community Sector Banking believes true reconciliation requires action, and is committed to playing a significant role in seeking to close the gaps that currently exist between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous people.

We aim to create a more just, equitable and reconciled Australia.

Community Sector Banking's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was launched in May 2013 during National Reconciliation Week.

Our commitment to environmental sustainability

At Community Sector Banking, in partnership with Bendigo Bank, we recognise our business activities have an impact on the environment.

As part of the Bendigo Bank group, we pledged our commitment to making a positive contribution to sustainability in our workplace and the communities in which we operate, with our Statement of Commitment to the Environment.

Our commitments include: actively identifying opportunities to reduce our environmental footprint; considering the environment in all relevant business decisions; not lending to companies for whom the core activity is the exploration, mining, manufacture or export of thermal coal or coal seam gas; and measuring and reporting our progress as we act to achieve these goals in partnership with Bendigo Bank.

Community Sector Banking staff are located across Australia, working from Bendigo Bank offices and branches whose majority of electricity is sourced from renewable energy, including five star green star rated office buildings in Bendigo and Adelaide.
